The Library Sitting Room
A wood-paneled room for reading by lamplight.
A wood-paneled library at dusk: shelves packed with old clothbound books, a worn leather chair with a plaid throw over the arm, and a brass lamp glowing on the side table next to a lit candle.
The shelves and the chair do the heavy lifting, so the pieces that finish the room are small: a rug, a lamp, a pair of bookends and a candle. Each comes as an Heirloom and a Find.

How to make it feel inherited
- Let the books pile up. Stack some sideways, some on the floor by the chair. Tidy shelves read as staged.
- Light it low. A brass lamp with a pleated shade and a lit candle, no overhead light.
- Put a soft rug on dark floors. A faded floral in sage keeps all that wood from feeling heavy.
- Add one thing that smells old. Leather, tobacco, woodsmoke. A library should smell like one.
Find or Heirloom? Every link from this room is also on the shop page.
